HMBS Issuer 2014 First Half League Tables – RMS Keeps the Crown

RMS led all HMBS Issuers in the first half of 2014 with $774 million of securities for a 24.7% market share. RMS has been the consistent leader of HMBS issuance the last three and a half years. Urban, AAG, Liberty, and Nationstar rounded out the top 5 with $567.7 million, $551.5 million, $381.6 million, and $233.4 million respectively. The top 5 originators again issued 80% of all HMBS. Generation Mortgage slipped a notch to sixth for the second half, adding just $95.5 million of issuance for the quarter. Live Well Financial has fallen from 3rd to 7th since year-end 2013, with $205.4 million of issuance for the first half of 2014. Live Well issued $1.1 billion of HMBS in all of 2013. There was just $439 million of HMBS issued in June 2014, the second lowest month since 2009. April 2014 issuance saw only $395 million of HMBS issued.

Of the total $3.1 billion of issuance, 25% or $780 million were tail issuances, 225 of the 482 pools issued. Fixed rate HMBS totaled $895 million for the half, 29% of total issuance, up slightly from last quarter.  $2.2 billion of adjustable rate HMBS was issued in the first half of 2014, $31 million of CMT, the rest being LIBOR indexed HMBS.
