The index will be a quarterly index of the dollar amount of newly originated proprietary reverse mortgage loans in the United States.<br><strong>We estimate Proprietary Reverse Mortgage Production for September 2025 at $210 million, 3rd quarter 2025 production at just over $650 million, and that year-to-date production of proprietary reverse mortgages totals just under $1.8 billion.   <\/strong><br>This compares to new FHA insured reverse mortgage production, (the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage, or \u201cHECM\u201d), of approximately $310 million in September 2025, and just over $3 billion year to date.<br>During the first nine months of 2025, we estimate that proprietary production has climbed from about 30% to 40% of the total dollar amount of reverse mortgage originations in the U.S. market.<br>This index is constructed from public and private sources.
